My SEEK Button broke. My MB Dealer told me to call Becker to get a replacement. The parts person at Becker had me pull the volume knob off and look at the shaft the knob goes on.

The Becker shaft has serations or fins, the Alpine has a smooth metal shaft. The shaft on my raio is smooth, and as per Becker, most of the C's have Alpine.

Now for my problem. Becker would have sold me the SEEK button that is broken on my car, but it will not fit my Alpine. Alpine refuses to sell me the part that literally clips in and should cost less than $1. Alpine said to pull the radio and have the MB dealer send it in for repair.

Any one have any suggestions on where I could get just the SEEK button, without having to go to a junk dealer to get a head unit out of a junker?

Is there anyway that shoe goo might help?

I had thought of using a silicone cement to do this. Another idea I had was to fabricate a small metal piece that would act as the two small plastic pieces that broke and crazy glue it to the back of the switch. Before I start working one one of these Kludges, I wanted to check to see if any one had a suggestion for obtaining an actual Alpine plastic switch.

I was trying to find that as well in the past... very difficult.
However a replacement radio might not be very expensive

I havn't used e-bay to purchase anything yet. My son has though. It is nice to know what my options are. Now the starting bid is $35. By chance do you know how much these radios usualy sell for on e-bay?

Thanks again.
