Hey

In my C43 i get like 220 miles on a full tank IF IM LUCKY!

i get like 13 miles a gallon! Im going broke fast with gas prices like this.

Okay i just changed my AIR filters with OEM ones and Just changed the Oil with Mobil 1 and changed the oil filter.

Still no change

The Idle of the car is normal and there is NO Check engine light.

Could it be the MAF or O2 sensors? But there is no CEL?

ANY ideas? TIA!!

I bet ya it's the O2. The O2 can be faulty without tripping the CEL light. Main cause of low mileage is a leaky gas line but low fuel mileage is a symptom of a bad O2 sensor.

take it easy on driving...nice and easy, no stomping on it (that'll kill gas mileage bigtime) drive with A/C off and keep load to a minimal...that should get some mileage back :)

Youll eat more gas with a cleaner filter because it's not clogged with dirst and stuff. The ride will be smoother and you can feel the power difference.

dont sweat it i am getting 200 out of my C36
well now i have engine light on so i will be diagnosing it soon but most likely either o2 sensor cuase i got 99k miles on my car and o2 sensor prob was never replace or MAF sensor b/c of damn k&n filter.

well i tried cleaning sensor with alcohol so maybe it even speed up the failure process :-) .

anyways Fuel filter and all that other stuff prob wont make a diff u expect from gas milage out of full gas tank, b/c i tried it all. now those sensors might be the key u r looking for. i myself will be replacing them asap.

Here here to that. I just changed my fuel filter and I am assuming it was responsible for the increase in responsiveness to the throttle. My car feels completely different than before. Much better.

edit: and btw, I get between 19-21mpg with my '97 c36. And I don't drive lightly.

I don't know about the V8, but getting 13mpg for the inline-6 sounds bad to me. I get about 290-300 miles to the tank. Once time I pushed it to 324 :)

J - Get less restrictive exhaust system like CKlasse said, that will help. Also, try getting more air to the engine with like a K&N air filter. If you want to go with REALLY good gas mileage, convert your car to a 4 cylinder!!:D

There has to be something wrong with your car!! My Mustang with a slightly bigger engine (4.6), gets 20 in the city and 26 on the freeway (if I dont floor it). On one tank of gas, I was being somewhat nice and shifting at 2500 RPM's and I averaged 18 miles per gallon.

So maybe a better solution, buy my Mustang from me!!!!:D

i get around 350 ish on a full tank. I usually fill around 300. I know I can probably get into 400 if it was all highway driving.

anyone hear of Fram's new high peformance air filter? It's called "AirHog" or something like that and its suppose to compete with K&N...BUT I think the only difference is that there's no oiling like the K&N, so is this less of a chance that the MAF will get killed?

What's that have to do with J's gas mileage??

Single setup is around $125-250 depending on what kind. Dual setup is twice as that! :)

i haven't seen 300 miles on a tank in about a year lol
damn heavy shoes
i'm not complaining about gas prices even though they are high
gas is still cheap
until it'll hit $4 bucks a gallon like in Europe, it's all good
THEN i'll complain a bit

So if i get rid of the cats and resonator it will give me better gas milage?

Do i need to replace with HI flow cats or can i just get them removed and a pipe put in place of it?
Or will this give me SHITTER gas milage?
