hi all! i'm looking for a set of tires for my car and i was thinking of getting the pirelli p-zero nero's....i had bad experiences with pirelli's before (noisy, bad wet traction....). so maybe someone has tried using this specific pirelli model tire, can help me out in deciding....

comments would greatly help..thanks

I have those on my car (rear), my front are P7000

The rear ones are near the end of their life, I'm keeping them for this summer. I tought they would be very bad when raining but I was VERY surprised. Actually not one single time did it slip when I wasn't expecting it, even under heavy rain.

The thing is I can't compare to anything else because it's the first set of tires on the wheels... But I think they aren't noisy and they stick to the asphalt as crazy.

I have them on my car now. I had the Rossos before and I liked them. They wore out hella quick though...probably got 16K out of the set.

I have just replaced the fronts with the Nero M+S and already I can tell they are less grippy than the Rossos. I am replacing the rears with Rossos this Friday. It appears the Nero M+S versions are not available in 245/40/17 size?!

But overall I like them. Good grip. Initially they squeal when cornering at slower speeds than the Rossos, but after they are warm they are fine. Great grip.

I did not have any issues in wet weather. But then again i'm not driving as fast in the rain anyway :)

I will definitely get the Michelin Pilot Sport 2s next time though. The reviews look great on them for all-around performance and wear.

i have continental sport contact 2 wow,the car sticks on the ground like MAGNATIC, but you can also go for the toyo t1s with confidence forget about the rossos.

I had the Toyo Proxies too. They were sweet. Are they still made?

Forget the Rossos? Why?

forget the rosso cause the is much quiter tires, and the toyo has a better grip on wet,and i think it lasts longer, and i think the rossos is more expensive iam not sure a bout this, but in value for money i think the toyo is good choice.

WHEW! my tire shop said they ordered me Rossos for the rear, but actually they got me Neros :) What they meant to say but made a mistake was Pirelli has a stop-production on the PZero Nero M+S tires in 245/40/17 size for some reason. I did not check the Pirelli site to confirm. So instead they ordered me the P Zero Neros in the summer compound.

The difference is treadwear rating. The M+S versions are 440 wheras the summer compound is like 220.

I have taken some corners already and not bad. I actually liked the Rossos I had before as they were very grippy. They actually weren't to bad in the rain either. But like I said, I drive carefully in the rain anyway.

The Neros seem to handle very good in the dry so far.

For the money they aren't bad.

But the Pilot Sport 2s look to be a better alternative based on customer sat on Tire Rack. I wanted these originally but my local wheel shop couldn't get them and I was in a bind. Next time i'll get them though.

I have two PZero Nero 235/40/17 sitting in my garage. I took them off after 300-400miles when I bought Kumho MX 245/40/17 to run in front.

I want to sell them. $150, OBO. They have a treadwear rating of 220.

Need some help; I ordered the Pirelli pzero-nero M+S (245/40/17)two months ago, they are still not here and the dealer can't get an answer from their distributer. I have checked Pirelli website and have emailed and phoned them with no luck.

Does anyone have more info as to whether they are available or not. I am thinking of getting 255 on the rear (17x8.5) does anyone know if this will cause any problems.

Also, anyone running Toyo Proxes 4, if so any comments would be appreciated!

Thanks

Ace, AFAIK these are on-hold for some reason. My local shops can't get them, and it appears Tire Rack can't either. You are probably better off cancelling your order as there's no ETA that i've been able to confirm for them.

I have the summer versions instead because I was in the same situation. As Jeff said, the TW is 220 vs. 400 for the M+S. if you don't mind more traction fo rthe sake of some tire life, they are pretty good.

Otherwise check out the Michelin Pilot Sport 2's. They seem to have awesome reviews and is in the same catagory as the nero's.
