Ok, I took my recently-purchased Starmark 97 c230 w/61k to Best Buy for audio upgrades, and 3 different people told me 3 differentthings, and once I had purchased their best equipment, the installer was clueless as to how the wiring worked.

I asked for a refund and quickly drove off :)

I didn't want to change the HU because I want the factory look. It seems as though my only option is a factory Bose system - $$$. Mine is the base system, and my compaints lie not with power but clarity. I have to religiously adjust the bass and treble depending on the song and the CD, and it is especially sensitive to burned CDs. Also, what sounds muffled as hell at low volume is totally clear if I crank it up. Anyone else have this issue?

Suggestions welcomed.

oh yeah, don't go for the bose system either, its a waist of $$, and compared to the good stuff that the aftermarkert has to offer it doesn't even come close. If Bose was so good they would be making aftermarket stuff to put in your ride.;)

agreed.. look into CDT, FOCAL, DIAMOND AUDIO,etc. they have some very nice components or coaxials if you want.. i'll personally never buy anything from best buy.. the quality and grade isn't there.. but that's just me

i used to be a supervisor for the car audio dept. at best buy. most if the people that go there aren't looking for competion setups, just something to get them away from the factory junk. :)
