ok so yesterday i'm cruising and i decide to open it up a little. after all the excitement;) i noticed that the car (98 230) didn't the same throttle response. e.g. i had the pedal to the floor and it barely moved, and i mean barely, like a creep from idle. i just changed my maf. it also happend today. it only occurs when the car is driven hard. i turn the car off and turn right on, and the car is normal again.:werd: any ideas? :hmmm:

Is MAS/MAF the same?

Well, this has happenned to me when my MAS was going out. The car shuddered and then i lost all power. It seems the car went into limp mode. A restart corrects the issue.

But in my case when this happenned my CEL went on. I also had some codes which somewhat helped determine the MAS was at fault.

Did you check for codes? No CEL?

I guess check and make sure the MAS is connected and not loose?

have no clue, but i was on another forum where other 202 owners were complaining about the same symptoms on the vehicle, and one of these people suggested that he had fixed the same problem problem on other w220's. he said it was the pedal value sensor. also that he has not done one on a 202 yet.
