I just bought new tires from Tire Rack instead of the standard 205.60.15, I went to a 215.60.15 conti contac ch95, $55 a tire on sale this month. They look good and the car (99 C280) has a better road feel. The next mode I am thinking of is Eibach wheel spacers. I heard good and bad about spacers, I do know that 5 years ago I bought new wheels and tires from Tire Rack for my wife's 94 Audi and the package has been fine, had to replace the original tires bought with the wheels and that's it. I am not interested in lowering the car, as I don't want to disturb the ride quality, but I would like to fill up the wheel wells a bit more. Has any one had any experience with spacers on 202s? Also, are there any wheel alignment issues? There were non with my wife's car. as always thanks for the help.:D
PS I have the stock 8 hole wheels.

I have been using 10mm spacers on my 202 for a few years now with no problems with alignments and general use.

I've been running two H&R 15mm spacers for a year now with no problems at all. pushed out my rear track by 30mm total.. wider stance. looks so much better and actually serves a purpose.

the rear wheels only as the 215s fit out the front wheel well nicely, but the rears still could use an inch or so more width to match the front, I measured almost 2 inches of space between the tire and the edge of the fender lip in rear and around one inch between the tire and the fender lip in front, if you look from the rear of the car to the front you can see the front stance with wider, so I would like to get them as even as possible. H&R or Eibach spacers, any difference in quality, price?

I honestly didnt even know Eibach made wheel spacers.. I know of another company FK that makes wheel spacers.. as for H&R.. I think they are the best out there.. the one major important thing is to make sure that whatever wheel spacer you choose.. to go with hubcentric.. they must be hubcentric wheel spacers or you will have mad vibration problems.
Here is the H&R site..
H&R spacers (http://www.hrsprings.com/site/frameproducts.html)
Here is the Eibach site.. Eibach spacers (http://eibach.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.exe/0066.1.2310063173300010786)
Heres is the FK site..
FK spacers (http://www.fknorthamerica.com/fk_products.php)
they all seem to offer hubcentric.. but they dont offer the thicknes of spacer you are looking for.. and I dont recomment going out that much.. 2" is way too much for a spcaer IMO, 1" or 30mm may be ok. but the only manufacturer that offers it by the looks of things is H&R.
I dont know about differences in quality between eiabch and H&R and FK.. I've only had experience with H&R. as long as they are made of high grade materials and come either DOT or TUV approved they should be ok.
price wise.. the FK may be less expensive then the Eibachs and H&R's.
I would personally recommend the H&R's but they are expensive. I think everyone goes to sander at the wheel supply or something..I dont know if people still go to him or not.. but they used to!
maybe get in contact with him.. and he can help you out.
I searched out his number... Sander 909-468-1311

yesterday, $68.68 for 5mm including new bolts and free shipping from Drivewire.com in Ca. They are coming UPS Ground so I should see them in about 10 days maybe more, as the UP railroad dropped the UPS contract last week and UPS is shipping everything for now over the road, which could cause big delays.

if i got spacers i would need new bolts right?
the bolts that are used with my wheels use some kind of weird key, where would i get longer bolts that are compatable?

wheel bolts, longer then stock, So I don't know what you would do, probably call the seller and ask their advice.

yes you will need longer wheel bolts when running spacers.. The place that you buy your spacer form may sell wheel bolts.. or you can just go to a wheel shop and buy wheel bolts.. bring the spacer with you and one of your stock wheel bolts an just get wheel bolts that are the thickness of your spacer longer.. so if your stock wheel bolt is 2" long.. and the spacer is 1/4" thick.. get a wheel bolt that is 2 1/4" long.
