if I but a german radio"a radio from germany" will the text on the lcd be in german or when i plug in into my car will it be in english. Can this be changed ?

not too sure about the lcd, but you'll have problems tuning the radio. it will be set to german frequencies.

For text... if the deck has multi lang option then you wont have to worry.
As for FM it will be fine. AM will be off a bit but still works. I have no problems with any US stations using my european spec radio.

cool i am finally going to buy one i was a few weeks ago but i got a speeding ticket so i had to pay for that god damn mercedes it just goes way to fast.
could you explain how to switch the language.
Ps. this form is way more educated than the dealer ship infact i think i know more than the dealer ship i have had a benz for only about 8 months
i just got it now i have to wait for it to be shipped

I have the euro W163 comand and its under the settings menu. Not sure that works on the deck you bought.
Best bet is just to fumble with it. However I think you wont have that much of a problem. I mean after all most you can do is tune in a station, play a CD, operate a CD changer and do some rudiment tone control. So you should be fine with the hunt and peck approach.

well i know german pretty well anyway, i am just thinking for resale.
