I heard somewhere you can make the city pay for it because they didn't pave the pothole. Has anyone tried to bill the city for it? I'm curious myself.

if it's holding air, here's a cheap easy fix = hammer, a lil bondo and some paint. :) (jk)

I actually know somebody who did this...
Your car would have to be at stock though, no lowering at all.
This also implies to cars that have been struck with things on the road such as tire rubber and little kids...

guys, guys, guys Nobody is gonna sue anyone.
I'm going to take the wheels to wheel techniques
in Santa Clara, CA

The amt of money needed to fix this wheel is
yet to be determined. I hope it will not be
as expensive as buying it new.

I've been there... been through 5 rims so far (3 AMG, 2 Brabus)

Any idea what the BMW's tire pressure was?

In all instance when I destroyed rims, I was under inflated. With the AMG rims in the mid 20psi, with the Brabus was at 32psi ! I keep my tires above 35 psi at all times now.
