From searching this is what i came up with....

w210 and w208 shift knobs will fit on w202.....
So if i were to buy a brabus shift knob for a w210 or w208 ..will this fit in my w202?
If they do fit with modification, how would i go about doing this?
Thanks

Is it an exact fit? No modifications whatsoever?

On the 94's a new shaft must be installed b/c the knob is not removable, but the later cars have the twist and lock connectors on the knob.

I have first hand experience with this shift knob issue- I have a '94 C220, and to change the shifter its a pain in the :bunny: . Since the shaft is attached, you must take apart the center console around the shifter area, then unthread a nut on the bottom of the shaft. I believe from '95 on, the knobs that screw off the top of the shaft are compatible with all other MB knobs. ( I remember scorchie from mbworld saying something about this) I remember seeing a post where someone asked if a W203 knob would fit on their w202, and scorchie told them yes, although it would look stupid. (with out the leather boot to cover the shaft like on a w203) hope this helps a bit-

Thanks sholly,
I already got what i needed for the shift knob help so no worries. I was really interested in putting the brabus illuminated shift knob for the w203 on my w202 but after looking at the shift knob and looking at my shift knob, i didn't think it would be an easy job and wouldn't come out as clean as i would expect. So i just made a subtle change to my shift knob as it is and very happy with it. Thanks for all the help.

http://www.w202-freunde.de/

see section "tipps&tricks" there is an installation of a W203 manual shift knob in a W202.

Unfortunately it german language not so useful for me.

In any case I'm also still interested to change my manual shift knob, for me it's too small to well grip.

Probably the W203 knob is also smaller respect other possibilities and modern W203 knob seems not to well match W202 interior.:)
