Alright so I've had my cheap Sony deck in for almost a year now, and I see my sad stock radio sitting on my shelf. I said to myself, eh what the hell lets see how it sounds again.
I disconnect the VW adapters and what not and plug the stock wires back in. The deck turned on but read "CODE." Didn't know it so I attempted to be a mentalist and guess it. After a few tries it changed to "WAIT" .... I'm still waiting... ANYONE know what this means?

That means the deck has locked you out. Without the correct
code you will not be able to use/run that deck.
This is designed to discourage thieves from stealing decks
and selling them without the proper codes. If you are
the original owner of the car, this is provided when you first
take delivery.
Perhaps, check with your local MBZ dealership to see if they
can help you with the code.
Good luck.

Go to an MB dealer and just ask if the service advisor to get your radio code for you.. he will need to see proof of ownership. then he can get your radio code for you.
The "WAIT" on your radio happens after you enter the wrong radio code 3 times in a row, you will need to leave your radio powered on for 15 mins I believe the first time this happens.. (if you continue to input the wrong radio code after this time.. the next time the "wait" comes up it will take even longer for it to go away.. meaning leaving your radio on for anywhere from 1 to 3 hours.) then input the correct radio code and depending on how new your W202 is, press the scan button I think or the enter button on the 99+ decks.

I believe right after you enter the 5th code, the radio will do the code comparison. It will make a beep sound.
