When i went back to 17" rims, I bought the C32 set as they were exact replacements for the C36 monoblocks. However, I ASSumed they would have a polished lip like the monoblocks...NOT! They are painted silver.

I was wondering if the lips can be stripped of the paint and polished to a shiny sheen like the monoblocks. Is that possible for these rims?

Would Chris (the guy who did the rim service from AF 1) be able to do this?

I think they would look better with a polished lip. I'm suprised they didn't keep it that way for the C32 rims :(

Ah, IC. I remember that article. So his rim lips were painted from the factory? I thought he just re-polished the lip as it was dull.

I will use the search button :p

It's a pain in the ass to do it yourself. I would recommend that you let someone do it for you. ;)

You know me Jun....if Autoplus can do this, i'm so there! I just want to make sure there will be shiny metal underneath that paint  :p

It will not be shinny as you expexted. It sure does need a good polishing to achieved that bling bling shine. ;)

Does any one have a pic of these rims with the lip polished? I have a scuff on one of mine and it seems like this would be a good way to "fix" the problem.

I haven't seen any pics yet of C32 rims with polished lips....so I hope to be the first (if it's economically feasible!).

I can't imagine it costing too much as polishing a complete wheel is around $130. Should look good on the rear 8.5 rim....I have trouble visualizing the front 7.5 rim though as the lip is very small.

Just make sure they put clear coat on top of it so that you do not have to polish them again every 2 weeks.
