Sorry I know this tread is worthless without pics but i will sometime this week.
But, i just wanted to tell people thats thinking of doing this cutting its very easy took me and hour.
the best part it only cost $30.00. $5.00 of that was the metal saw
from Home Depot.

I convince that guy to end his auction.
Newbies should check out auction for w210 grille 96-98
there cheap because this people are buying a different grille for them. ( One man's Trash is Another man's Treasure )
I'll post a pick tommorow

W210 grille insert. I cut to make it fit w202 grille
I basically use the original as a template and cut a 1 3/4 inch on top and about an 1 inch on both sides.

No. it wont. I didnt cut any chroming, just the outer part it's hard plastic. Trust me im not much of a DIY person if i can do this you certainly can. look in ebay for w210 96-98 grill its cheap it wont go more than $30
Then take the screws off holding the (Insert grills)
put your original insert set in on top of the w210 grille
Line up both buttom and the center chrome.
get a marker and out line the top part the you need to cut.
As for the side i just the outer plastic before you get to the chrome part.
Thats it.
it was kinda tight fit when i put in to my original outer chrome but one's in its perfect.
good luck

nice DIY! I didnt realize that the bekkers grille was just that, a cut down version of the W210. Anyway, good to see you took initiative to mod your car. looks nice.
edit: is that an intake cover on the pic's left side? you can take it off to help the airflow.

I've made the same. I've purchased a new grill insert from a W210 with relevant crome and adapted to the stock W202 grill.
Cheaper solution that can be easy done.
