My climate control light went out a while back and i tried replacing the bulb on the underside of the unit but to no avail. what else can i do to fix it?

you sure the bulb you put in was good?? put it in right?

yes, i tried several different positions for the bulb and then for the bulb holder.

the climate control will only illuminate with the headlight switch on.. also make sure you have power and ground at the bulb.
Ive never seen any problems with illumination before... so I really cant offer any advice on what it could be. its always just been a burnt out bulb.
