Do you know how much more clearance you got from the widebody? How big of a tire set can you fit under there!?!?!??

Looks good man. And yes does it add extra clearance?

Now your car looks like W420 little brother :p ;)

Purdy. But look at that last shot, the fenders dont line up w/ rear bumper. Looks like you would have to do additional custom work to get it to look seamless...

Thanks Guys.

1) I post the pics out of my own server on yahoo using my internet stores (I own a speed shop in Socal).

2) There is just 'alittle' more clearance after the flare, maybe like a few centimeters. Car used to rub on the freeway over bumps, now it doesn't, so I guess it helped? :)

Next plan is to beef up the stereo alittle, and then deal with performance later.

Right, the car does look like my bro's W420's E class, except I have rear flares and he doesn't. :P

What size tires and wheel are you running in the back? A few centimeters extra sounds like 285's will fit! :)

Looks dope!

Is it possible to line up the rear bumper to the extra width? if it'd be perfect!

Were these add-on pieces?

Front tires are 225
Rear tires are 265

Auto Couture fender flares are add on pieces, but I decide to have them molded to look not as 'flashy'.

Is it one of those if I had to ask I cant afford it pieces cuz I would like to add them to my car. but i would to the flashy datsun 510 bolt on look.

email me @ admin@club202.com and let me know.

but i must say looks really good. i know luwin and i were searching for flares a while back and though we might have to hack some pan am cars to get the look.

Nokia,

Which pieces were the one that you had to ask but you can't afford it one? :) You need to give me some pics to confirm.

But in order to find out if the Auto Couture flares were the one you want, shouldn't you give me some pic of the ones you want so I can verify if they are the same ones you want? :D

hahaha man youre making this harder than what it really needs to be :p

i was looking for flares but could never find any and almost broke down to buy flares for a 510. But now that you post your flare I would rather see about those instead of some hack 510 flares.

But I know you want to see a picture so here is a 510

http://www.gordon-glasgow.org/Images/510-2-1.jpg

Now give up the nfo on your flares or ima get will to beat you up :p

Ah okay, now I get it. Too bad I didn't take pics of the flares when I received them from Japan (bare), but when I did I matched the flares and it cross over the door 'moldings' for the front and rear. The rear flares went all the way as far to the rear bumper. So the Auto Couture flares were not simple bolt on flares and I was told by Auto Couture these would require modifications. That's how I decide to get them molded for all those work needed to get them fit.

Now the info you are seeking for, the price I paid for the flares after freight shipping from Japan was close to $900, then the cost of the paint job to get them on is another story.

But on a bare level, those flares do look like what you are after because they look rediculously flashy (unlike the picture of the black mercede on Auto Couture's website), and I think these are what you are after.

The lip of the fenders seem really thick and to extend back all the way to the original fender lip (as if the fenders are just molded over original fanders and offer to additional clearance for wider wheels). Is this true or am I seeing things?

MrSpace

IMO in order to have wider wheels, you would have to CUT your original fender, then put the flares so that you get an extra inch or so of clearance,

If you just put the flare on top of the original fender, the clearance will be the same. I don't know if you see what I mean (probably the samething as UP)

spoilers on eBay, one is from Germany and supposed to be DTM style, can you direct me to the one one you saw, if on the net? do you think these window spoiler will block rear vision, the ones I've seen, seem to come down to the top of the rear defogger's top coil?

Thanks

1) The flares were added to the original fenders, but I am not sure if the body shop 'pulled' the fenders alittle just to fit it in but I did notice clearance did increase a tad, but ofcourse not as much as if you were to cut the original fender and them put the flares on.

2) Voll Strom rear window spoiler, will find out the price soon.

Wayne I noticed you have the turn signal rear views, how do you hook them up to work, was it a do it yourself or did you have it wired by a pro. I have thought about doing this but wouldn't know where to start. Thanks

Nokia had posted a write up on 'folding' / 'turn signal' mirrors. It's here somewhere.

Yelp, I smell a certain Mercedes website's "Ride of the Month"

And how, that car is P-I-M-P. Needs an AMG 5.5L conversion (or at least Mosselman Twin Turbo)

I second that notion. BTW I priced out the AutoCouture flares. They're about $800 for the set, and will take about 1-2 months to get here from Japan.
