Is there any way I can retrofit my 1995 C36 AMG with the 1996 Keyless Entry. I'd like to use an OEM setup if I can. I do have the $500.00 factory alarm addon with was offered on the 1995 model but of course that doesn't have keyless entry.

unless you can find a wrecked car you going to be into big dollars and new wireing harnesses. not worth while at all.

I also have a 1995 C36 and I was in the same position as you a few months ago, and you might want to look into getting an aftermarket system like a Viper keyless system. It cost me about $250 including installation. The key is finding a shop that knows how to work on Mercedes vacuum system.
Good Luck.

I talked to a shop about adding keyless to my 94 and they were talking about adding something to the vacum system to make it think you turned the lock.
Does the dash switch get power when the doors are locked?
Why can't you just send power to the appropriate side of it to lock/unlock?
just curious
thanks

by keyless you mean opening the doors with the key button and not the metal ke itself?
because some new mercedes has real keyless where you don't even have a key, only a credit card thing in your pocket and when approaching the car it unlocks and lets you start the engine. That's what I cal keyless entry.

Yeah, I mean using a remote to unlock the doors. Thats all I could add to my '94 without tons of money/work.

Go aftermarket. I got my Prestige put in for around $210 at Circuit City (the guy I know there knows what he's doing). I got lucky and hit it on a free installation day.
