exterior door handle removal

Anyone know how to remove the door handles (outside). Thanks!

I'm not sure how to take them off, but when i went to my bodyshop, they said they didn't want to take them off and put them on again because he said it took too much time and too much effort. I guess it's very hard. But if you were to take off your door panels, then you should be able to see how to take them off n such. Good luck...

thats what i was afraid of, I was hoping that it was possible to take them off without removing the door panel (like on the w201s)

There's a hole on side of the door and use an allen to take them off.

The front and rear doors are the same set up.

You forgot to tell him to peel away the weather stripping to reveal the hole on the side of the door :)...

not the same on mine, the hex bolt on the front doors only turns 1/4 turn.....

You have to turn harder. Trust me, the 4mm hex bolt will come out.
