I just installed original spoked style AMG rims on my 1995 C36. I have the model with the SL600 extra big caliper. While the wheel free spins ok. The caliper is right up agianst the rim. It's not rubbing at this point and it seems to drive ok but I just wanted to make sure that was Ok. I thought an original AMG rim wouldn't have any issues.

yea if its a genuine amg monoblock II it should fit it perfect. yes the caliper is pretty damn close but it clears.

Yeah It looks like it would be just as close on the monoblock but you just can't see it do to the rim covering it. I'm using the newer five spoke AMG's now. They are the ones that came on the 2000 C43. It just looks so close. I'm worried about a heat problem.

ya if it is original monoblock it will fit fine, even though of the low caliper clearence.

If it's not touching then you don't have a problem, especially with OEM...

C43's came with the same monoblock rims from 98-2000.Never chgd until c32 came out. Those are from a CLK 430. CLK 55,C43,E55 use the same style mono's.The rims that you mentioned come on the "S" AMG kitted 430,500(18"),SL500(18")well they are slightly different with the SL.

Actually only 2000 C43 come with AMG SLK17" *the same wheel that W208 CLK430's come with) and OEM AvantGarde grill
just like the pic below

The rest of the fleet of 95-97 C36, 98-99C43 and CLK55 (W208) comes with 17" AMG Monoblok 17".

This my car with AMG SLK17"

The clearance between the caliper and the wheel spoke is about 2.5mm..

but you don't need to worry as these are 4 piston fixed caliper. (caliper position doesn't move at all in regards to the wheels).

At first I never notice that too until I paid more attentions to the 2000 C43's...

and I started noticing that they have different wheels and "avant-garde" grill equipped :p

Regardz, I think the original Monoblocks from C36 and earlier C43's look meaner!

I love the rims I have on my C36 (SLK/2000 C43 Type). I'm enjoying them and they have a real sporty look. I don't think I have enough cleerance on my fronts to even paint my calipers. Now that is close!!! ;)
