I would like to lower my C280, what do you recommend?

1-2 inches?

Just swap out the springs?

Swap out the shocks?

Swap out anything else?

Is there a setup you recommend, if yes, how much is it?

I'm going to do a few searches, but a few replies would be nice guys.

Thanks!

Thanks! First of all you gotta chg the springs to lower the car..I would chg the shocks as well. Height depends on you with the 5 different choice of spring pads. Also I would advise you to do a search.I'm sure alot of folks are gonna tell you this.Put suspension in the search!

Vogtland springs, Koni Ext. adjustable shocks. You can get them at your favorite shop.

1-2 inches?
about 1.5" is good

Just swap out the springs?
Swap out the shocks?
Depends, are you going for just look, or improved handling also?

Swap out anything else?
start with springs/shocks & see how you like it

see above...

If you really want to lower the thing get H&R's and change the pads to #1.

All depends on how low you want to go!

Changing springs is a start. H&R, Eibach, and Vogtland are all good choices.

If it's not low enough, you can always change the spring pads.

Still low enough, you can cut one coil off the springs. While not readily recommended as it is pretty much an irreversible mod, I did it before because I wanted a drastic drop and was very happy with the results.

I would also recommend changing the shocks as well to a set of aftermarket ones like Bilstein, Koni, etc. However, if budget is tight, you can lower your car with springs first and then change your shocks out later.

Overall I would like to improve looks and handling.

Well, as far as how low, I'm not sure. What looks good? Someday I will have 17s on my car, but right now I'm keeping the stock 16" wheels. I'm not trying to go super low, just so my car doesn't look like a mini-van, lol.

Let say I just want to lower it 1.5 to 2 inches (I've read that the back should go a bit lower, but you tell me what's best). If I keep my existing shocks, will it ride rough? What are the drawbacks to using the existing shocks?

If I do it now, I probably can only do the springs, but if it's better to do the shocks also, then I can wait a few months and do it all at once.
