I know renntech made camshaft for the I-6.
Now I found Camshaft for just about every MB engine.
http://www.mkb-power.de./pages_en/products/products.php?artgroups%5Bid%5D=5
For the C280:
229 HP at 5800 RPM
I don't believe we can get those gains from just camshafts. These camshaft either don't work (that well) or are like $3000.
For the C43 330 HP at 5600 RPM (I guess the camshafts in the C43 engine are pretty aggressive already because the kit comes with a whole bunch of stuff...)

.... or you can go to your local machine shop to have your camshaft done! :)

MKB is one of the best tuners out there. It originated from the guy who is the M in AMG.
I thought MKB was well known on this forum. I have posted several links to the site. :(
I think the power can be achieved, but it does cost alot of $$.

I think you're mixing up your stories just a little. Toni's old C55 started with a Medical Car exhaust from AMG, and he added on an MKB resonator to replace the original one.

How much?
I'm just guessing when I said $3000, I was hoping more like $600-700. But if the numbers are correct, thats 35 HP gain, not bad. I did find a site that would machine our cams for a few hundred.
I'm sure Speedybenz has research this topic.
Better camshafts probably help the C43 motor get the extra power it has over the normal 4.3l. So I think it's a do-able mod. Group buy maybe?

Just guessing, I would think that cams for my car would be around 1500 a piece. Schrick's are like 1100-1200. Thinking about it, I wouldnt be surprised if MKB's were even a little more expensive.

Here is the 411. I have bought all the cylinder head stuff that matters so I can engineer the valve train and come up with a killer cam combo. I have the head gasket, valves, valve springs, valve retainers, valve locks, valve guides and rocker arms.
I may send this stuff to Comp Cams and have them evaluate the maximum ramp acceleration and lift for a cam that will work with our V6-V8 engines.

I think you have different cams then us non-amg people. Seems like the AMG already has aggressive cams, I hope I'm wrong. I'd love an extra 25 HP for a few hundred bucks (plus install).
Thanks Jeff.

Part of my plan includes having new vavle guides made up so that smaller diameter stem valves can be used to save weight. Any weight saved can be such a big help as it can allow a cam to open very fast and the valve to follow, becuase it is lighter. And if you get more valve opening time with less cam duration.

When you had your C280, did you do any research in Cams for that engine, what choices do "we" V6 owner have?

I did do some research of cams for the V6 motors and only found Schrick cams out of Germany.
The problem with just adding cams is that the exhaust system may not flow enough air or pull air out of the motor properly to do any good by just adding cams.
Always remember the engine is a system of parts that must work together to function correctly.
And what I meant by the exhaust pulling air out of the engine is a properly constructed header, collector and then the exhaust piping which then carries the exhaust flow out to the back of the car.
The first 3 feet of the exhaust system is the part which is critical to top performance and the exhaust piping after that just needs to be free flowing with Zero Resistance to flow and zero backpressure.
It is also important to know if the intake system can flow enough air to support the new cams. Although it is easier to mod the intake system to deliever enough air compared to the exhaust system.
