Rear passenger window noise

I've recently noticed some bad noise from my rear passenger when someone tries to open or close it. Now it looks like it is starting to not move well at all.

Any ideas? How tough is it to get into the door and repair myself?

sounds like its your window regualtor. as far as fixing it, its kinda tricky, it tried doing it on my xterra, but ended up taking it to the dealer.(recall)

I probably should have mentioned this earlier, but the noise seems to be more mechanical in nature. Like a "clunking" or something that is off track.

I don't know how else to describe it.

Is it difficult to take the door panel off and take a look? Where would I locate the procedure?

it will be a very delicate procedure. If you rip the door panels off you will break clips or tabs in the panel so be careful when removing them.
