its coming from the driver side only, and i pretty sure its just a bad control arm bushing...how much would it cost to just change one sides control arm bushing alone? should i replace the ball joint at the same time or is it unnecessary? does anyone have an idea on how much it would cost to get the job done just for one side?

well first off see if it is the control arm bushing, see if its torn open and if ther is oil all over the control arm....BTW, did you see my reply about the h3 bulbs?

how many bushings are there? is there like 2 on each side or something? cuz when i searched for the part on importec.com they list 4 different items that look identical...

that sounds better than what i was quoted when they thought my control arm bushing was bad. i think they charged like 500 for both sides or something but they gave me refund after when we found out it wasnt the control arm bushings that was the problem

Control arm bushing aren't filled with fluid I guys. I changed my lower ones and it wasn't liquid filled so if you see oily stuff..it's coming from somewhere else.

Clunking sounds going over small bumps slowly is also a result from worn ball joints. common w202 problem.

BTW if you change the lower control arm bushing..please do both sides and not one.

yuppers. replace both at the same time.

DO NOT TIGHTEN THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS WITH THE WHEELS IN THE AIR, TIGHTEN THEM WHEN ON THE GROUND WITH LOAD.

It's like having 4 tires that are 1/2 worn and then you get 1 flat and only changing the 1 tire to a new one.
