Depends on what W202 you have... I hear the HWA part number AMG Bilsteins can handle it a little better then the shocks on the other W202's. I'm not sure though. I plan on trying it with my H&R's and I shall soon see. If not I recommend buying from some Bilstein Sports. They are on eBay for a pretty good price.

that is true that AMG OEM shock could handle the aftermarket lowering spring...

however sooner or later it is bound to fail, since it's not designed to be couple with aftermarket lowering spring..

it is best to change to sport shock along with aftermarket lowering spring.

Right now i'm using 19's with just stock shocks and eibach springs only. The ride isn't toooo bad i guess, but sooner or later your shocks will go out. I feel mine "not up to par" so i have an extra set of shocks ready to be put in. I've been riding with stock shocks for about a good 50-60 thousand miles too. I guess it's time to put in the new shocks , but to answer your question, you can use the stock shocks , but wouldn't recommend using it for a long time.

ive been on stock shocks for over a year.... plus my front springs are cut... n my shocks still ride good

I did it all at once.

Non-OEM shocks are shorter then the stock shock to accomodate for the lowering spring.

change out your shocks to the "sport" ones when you get lowering springs.

you can lower the car with the stock shocks... it just would not perform as good
