I was just wondering if I should drop my car and then add bigger rims or if i should add the bigger rims and then drop it, there is a posibility in the future i might get some 17" amgs to replace the 15" but not shure i want to lower the car though what the best way to do it, also what are the best springs from a pure proformance stand point.

I don't think it matters which order you do it, either way you end up with a lowered car & big wheels...

the best springs?
I think it's Vogtland, some say H&R, some don't like either. Regardless of which spring you end up with, if you are looking for pure performance, get some quality shocks also. My suggestion would be the koni externally adjustables.

Here's how much I paid for my Eibach and non-adjustable Bilstein sport set up, tax included was about $700CDN. Got a deal cause I ordered it through Mar-Cor in Hamilton. They gave me an extra 10% off cause they said they didn;t have stock..and when it came they would send it out. Months past and I still didn;t get it..I called and it turned out they got them in stoock awhile ago but just fergot to ship them out to me.

i had a H&R sport spring. in confort wise. it is very confort. and i feel more confidence in taking corner. i guess if it is not low enough you can change the suspension pads to make it lower.

can i have it real low in the summer and then crank it up in the winter like coil overs ?

Best setup IMO would be H&R sport springs and Koni Adjustables. H&R makes very good springs and have a race reputaion. You can change the height of the drop by changing pads but its not going to be anything like Coil overs (there are NO coil over kits for w202) Changeing pads is going to change the height of your car MMs

in my opinion H&R has great performance handling. I have H&R sports with the stock shocks and it turns on a dime.

Unless your going to a coilover (yes jnolte there is a H&R coilover kit for the W202), you won't get ride height adjustment. When people mention Koni Adjustables, they are referring to adjusting the stiffness of the ride not the height. (Unless you spend like $3000US a corner like speedybenz did).

vogtland are great springs perfect drop height and handling/feel. imo. i got mine off ebay brand new for 153 shipped so look around for a li and im sure you can pick up a great deal. id say with 17's vogtlands with #1 pads in front and then play with the rear to get a lil "rake" in there.... just my 2 cents

You work in a garage right? Don't you have suppliers you can contact? I got mine from Mar-Cor parts suppplier in Hamilton. One of the biggest suppliers in the area.

Eibach is OK, sometimes they tend to sag a little in the rear. What do you call a good price on the pro-kit?

Springs are fairly cheap & most brands are priced about the same. I would shop based on the look/ride that you want, not price...

For FYI, my suspension setup costs about $4,000US retail. Not including the swaybars.

That would get you double adjustable Penske's and ride ht. adjustable spring perches to use with 2.5" diameter race springs.

It's a bunch of money but it works so, sooooo nice and with a couple of clicks on the shocks I can go from highway to racetrack mode in 10 minutes.

Same goes for the ride ht. I can go from slammed to street geek (I mean taller than stock) in about 10 minutes also.

Penske shocks are multiconfigurable so I could use them on a s2000 Honda by changing some fittings, or some other car. I hope to use them for many, many years.

Yep and At those prices, really appealing also, there about the cost of OEMs and you can swap out the ball joints which is the only reason i changed my control arm.

My experience is rims then springs,

U dont wana lower ya car then buy wheels and find out it is to high.

Better off puttin wheels on it to see how much u wana lower it then lowering it to suit the wheels.
