Greetings All,

I'm a relative newbie to the C280, as I've only had my '96 C280 Sport for a couple of months. I want to install a new in-dash CD/MP3 player with control of the CD changer in the trunk. I've looked at all the choices at Crutchfield, and each seems to have a specific type of Cd changer that they are compatible with. Can anyone tell me what the head unit needs to be compatible with to be able to control my changer? Alpine? Blaupunkt?

I'm thinking of putting in an Alpine of Blaupunkt HU - any comments or concerns?

it would have to be an alpine with an m-bus connection.

check out Ebay.de its in german but theres going to be something that is plug and play. out of curiosity whats wrong with a mercedes benz indash cd changer ?

Thanks for the feedback, gents.

An MB in-dash changer would be great. Mine's just a tape deck with FM and CD control, but the display has gone all black, and I can't see what I'm trying to accomplish... It's impossible to key in the anti-theft code number. Other than that, nothig's wrong with and MB in-dash anything, except perhaps the $.

So, the final conclusion is that I need a head unit that will control an Alpine spec CD changer with an m-bus connector. Any specific recommendations in the $300 or less range?

try yo get a HU with at least 2 preouts, but for 300$ you can get one with 3 preouts, that way you have to expand your system later on.
