problem settled, a friend of my son, brother is a machinist and I am going to take off the pull part of the handle and he is going to machine me out of stainless steel the exact same part, I am going to mount the grille today, I won't attached the clips just a couple of pieces of duck tape on the back to hold it and see if the handle always ends up in the same spot when you release the hood from inside.

I was looking thru the "items for sale" section of the Sunday paper a while back and a guy had a add for a C Class grille frame in good condition for $10.00 so I called him and went to his house a bought it. It was used but in good shape, I didn't bother to asked where he got it. He also had some trim parts as I remember.

some measurements and I will take some pictures and post them. Despite the comment someone made it would look good only on a black car, I think it will look terrific, as I have chrome headlight & taillight surrounds, so I think it will blend in well.
