I'm thinking about getting either an Alpine in-dash screen and
an Alpine nav system, or that new all-in-one in-dash nav system
from Pioneer. Both require a vehicle speed sensor wire to be
hooked up to the car.

My question is... where in thw W202 is the vehicle sensor wire?

Thanks in advance for your replies! :)

well the speed sensor is on the tranny... and there is a wire that goes from the speed sensor to the speedometer... i dont know if that is what you are talking about though...

it can be found at the radio harness

you mean it's the same wire that adjust the factory radio's
volume up/down as I go faster/slower?

thanks!

nav systems also want you to hook up the backup wire to know when your car is in reverse.

but that one is hooked to the tranny.

if you dont hook it up its fine. not worth the trouble

the nav works perfect still it just dosent know when you are backing out of your driveway.
