Sorry, I know you're new and all, but you're gonna have to poke around a bit more before posting again. Nothing personal, that's just how it goes. Good luck.

after doing a search on C36 chip there is a bit of discussion on J Irwan's powerchipped C36. However, other chipping discussions can be just as relevant as the basic fact is that you're interested in a chip for an N/A Mercedes Benz.

Further, if you are particularly interested in upsolute, I would call them directly and ask them about C36 applications.

***

The reality of the N/A chipping world is that it is a very individual thing (individual to the car) and just like exhaust power gain claims, you don't know if a chip will do any good to you until you see your car's before and after dyno.

My best advise would be to pick a vendor, ask them what level of performance gain will they guarantee with their tuning, then hold them to their word. Get before and after dynos on your car. And if it doesn't live up to the promise, get your money back. At least one member here has done that.

I've seen far too many people (in person) buy some whiz bang chip for their N/A car and come out with one of two reactions:

1. no before and after hard data, but perhaps because of their egos, and maybe cause of the new hole in their wallet they feel the need to say: wow what a difference on the butt dyno! i can really feel it working!

or

2. they get before and after dynos...leading to a 3HP or less gain anywhere on the power band (well within the margin of error for a dyno)- then they just mope for a while, or go for the "drive it for XX miles, then it'll adapt" argument.

In the end the tuning and modding game is full of myths, and is not as scientific as most want to believe. Reading the threads posted can be one step to determining what's real and what isn't., but sometimes only when you see things for yourself can you know what's worth your hard earned dollar.
