or whatever they're called. (those plastic shields around the brake air duct)

anyone have to take these off due to tire rubbing?

finally got the 19x8.5 et40's + 235/35's on with 5mm spacers all around (thanks slammed_c for the advice!) but apparently the front fender liner was chewin sidewalls and i'm only dropped with h&r springs.

Well if my memory serves me right.. there is only a small fender liner at the front of the wheel well.
there should be 2 screw on the underside of the bumper where the liner meets the bumper, then on the inside of the wheel well and one kinda under the fender liner near where the sway bar runs across, there should be a couple plastic nuts and bolts that hold it in place, both 10mm.

thats funny that your rubbing there.. are you sure its not the small trim piece on the front bumper?
the liner shouldnt be chewing up the sidewall.. its got to be something metal thats chewing the sidewall, or sharp.

i took off part of the splash sheild on my rear passenger side... i get rubbing in the rear of my car on that side... i have 18x9 et40 with 235-40-18... is my tire too thick or is my offset too high? will adding 5-10mm spacers get rid of the rubbing?

the offset is too high. get some spacer and you should be just fine. btw, I'm running 255's on my rears and many other members have the same too.

i used to run 255-35 with no rubbing problems, but now im using 235-40. hopefully spacers do the trick

Yeh.. your offset is a bit off.. ideal offset is 35.. so you need 5mm spacers to correct that.
