View Full Version : Why do I need the vin for front rotors?

I know why I would need it for rear pads (one pin vs 2 pin) but arent the front pads and rotors the same for the C230k's? Mine is a 1999. I just find it add that some sites ask for the vin for FRONT rotors, and some dont need it.

I think they go by VIN to locate the parts for your car.. you may type in C230 on the site but it brings up all brake parts for the W202 of a C230, including Kompressor.. it uses the VIN to narror down the parts to the ones that will fit your car more specifically.
I noticed that too when I was searching for brake pads a while back.
