Does anyone have installation pictures/instructions of an FMU (Vortech, etc.) installed on a W202?
I'm in the process of researching turbo/SC options for my C220. I would like to get an idea of what I can do myself and what I'll need to pay a shop to do.
I'm considering 4-5psi for now. What ratio FMU's are people running (10:1, 12:1)?
Any pictures or text describing the installation of an FMU would be appreciated.

Comments...? Anyone...? Bueller?
(Just kidding! Hee-hee!!)
I think I may have gathered some good info from other websites. However, I would really like to hear from members of OUR site too!

I am planning on installing a powerdyne's bd-600 or bd-11 supercharger. they are both belt driven, so you dont need any oil lines running to it, which means better performance and longer blower life. they are both available with 6 or 9 psi boost.
hope this helps
p.s. whatz fmu?

I appreciate the comment jnenad1.
FMU = Fuel Management Unit
It's a simple device to adjust fuel pressure appropriately for the additional boost provided by a turbo or supercharger.

Ok, everyone has a different name for it.
Have you looked into MSD fuel pump booster, or just install higher flowing injectors(I got accel injectors on my C280)
to my knowledge, accel injectors are the only ones that would fit on mercedes( 73mm length, same as modern mercedes ones). but research which flow rating you need, great site for this is www.rceng.com
use their injector flow worksheet to figure out which flow rating would be appropriate for your application after the supercharger has been installed.(be realistic with desired HP when filling out the worksheet)
let me know if you need any help with it.

At only 5 psi, a AFR gauge, and RC injectors should be more than sufficient.

Good input!
Actually, a simple Vortech FMU is all that is needed for 4-5psi. Any boost beyond that, and then you're talking more extensive fuel management, larger injectors or even a 5th injector (4 cylinder in my case).
I'm going to stay under 5psi for now. When I rebuild my engine in a couple of years then I'll plan for higher boost.

I would go for Mosselman twin turbo. Let me know if you one. ;)

Do you have connections for Mosselman? (BTW, I think I'm limited to a single turbo for the C220.)
Where is a good place to purchase a simple FMU (Vortech type)? Ebay is one option.
