has anyone cut out there resonator on their c280?

i heard from a few w202 drivers that they just cut out the resonator and put some amg tips on and it sounds great and looks good?, i thought it sounded kinda lame, has anyone cut out thjere resonator before, and if so.. does it sound decent?

i took out my resonator, but im not still running the stock exhaust. my car didnt get much louder, but it did get throatier than it was. i like it better without the resonator. btw i have a 4 banger

the resonator is behind the muffler before the cat, correct, and yea i am puttin a daul chrome tipped remus muffler on. mines a 6, i hope it souns decent, but i am mostly doing it for the look.

they took out my resonator when they instaled my Remus........does not do much for performance..........but it does add a bit of noise............

something that looks good but sounds bad in turn will make it look bad.

if your after the looks.. then its not gonna matter, you wont see the resonator!!
but I had my resonator removed when I got my exhaust made.
custom cat back, no resonator with magnaflow muffler.. sounds sweet. eveyone says it sounds great, and its kinda loud.. but not loud enough for me!!
I have a C230 Kompressor, although not a C280.. Im sure your I6 will sounds hot with a nice exhaust and no resonator.. should give it some deeper sound to it and maybe slightly louder.

Are there any smog concerns? I'm in California... Will it still pass smog certification with the resonator removed?

resonator = muffler. 202's all have 2 mufflers. I took mine off & replaced w/hollow pipe for $40.00. No power increase, throatier, therefore I like it.

mine had AMG stamped on it & was just a tube inside with 'quarter' size holes and you could see the wire packing coming through. It just canx sound. No emmissions issues.
