Flashing LEDs

I am perplexed, what does it mean when both the red and green LEDS flash on the rear view mirror? This happens whenever I use the keyless entry, but not when I open the door manually.

BTW, the car in question is a 1996 C36.

when you see those light going on and off its your alarm system. and your doors are opening also.

As I understand it, the green LED should flash when the doors are unlocked and the alarm disabled. The red LED should flash when the doors lock and the alarm enabled. In my case, both LEDs are flashing. I suspect that my car is trying to tell me something, I just don't know what it is at this point.

my car does the same thing its normal.

Thanks to a posting in another forum, I found the culprit. The batteries needed to be replaced in the key. $6 later, everything is back to normal. I feel pretty stupid right now, as this is documented in the user's manual.
