Hey all,

posted a few weeks ago about how the temp gauge would never reach 80 even after driving for 20min+. Usually about 45 minutes later, it reaches it.

I'm suspecting (as all of you as well) that it's the coolant temp sensor. Just called the parts dept and told him what was going on and he said it was the "Coolant Sending Unit"...$24.10 for the part.

Now, is this the part where the two coolant hoses hook into at the front of the engine? The part is bolted down by 3 bolts? I think this is what you guys were describing to me...so is this part the same as the "coolant temp sensor"? If not, where would the "coolant sending unit" go and replace the old one?

Thanks for the help guys, happy holidays!

coolant sending unit is located on the thermostat housing(that round looking thing with three bolts). the sensor has only one wire connected to it. its also the smaller of the two(or three) sensors on the thermostat housing. hope this clears it up for you.
