Someone out there has these facts. Please share them..

I'd like to know what is the difference between the W202 C230k and the W203 C230k 2.3 engines. The W203 has a higher HP/TQ rating than the W202. What was done to increase the HP/TQ ratings?

That is correct!! So my question again, what changed to bring about the increase in the W203 2.3k?

The M111 2.3 I-4cyl in the 203 coupe is the same basic engine long block assy, but has a completely different fuel injection system from the W202. The W202 2.3 has Bosch ME2.0 fuel injection and the 203 has Siemens fuel injection. It has a completely different intake, different supercharger(no clutch), etc... The SLK(R170) had the Bosch 2.3 but switched to the Siemens 2.3 in 2001 if I remember correct. Then in 2003, the 203 changed from the M111 Siemens 2.3 to the M271 1.8 direct injection engine. Of course this is only for US-spec cars, it may be different in other countries.

Thanx benzaddict for the reply and info. Just wanted to know what exactly was done to bump the numbers up. Thought it might be something simpler...
