I want to do the same thing, if anyone could post a pic of their headlight minus the lens. I'd like to see if this is actually possible.

the reason i was asking this is cause i already did it to my jetta, and after i found out how simple it is, i figured i should have given a try on my old benzito

Yes it can be done. Just remove the housings, seperate the lens from the housing and paint the face of the housing. Do not paint the area directly behind the bulbs or you won't be able to see shit when your lights are on. You could do the same to a set of clear corners by putting them in the oven on a low temp for about 10 minutes until the adhesive loosens up to separate the lenses from the housings. Just paint the inside and place back in the oven to soften the adhesive again. Then put them back together.

By "housing" do you mean the mirror like plastic inside the lights? Still a bit confused, I want to try this for my corners....

Bingo! Sooooo to bring it all together, I just found it funny that you joind up as a benzsporter(started by nokia), joined up as a club202er (also nokia), sold the benz, bought a vw, and asked on the club about a mod originally for vws that joey came up with long before he got into benzes.

Small world eh?

Now here's some nostalgia that waaaay pre-dates me:

yeah. it doesn't look like any of the 202 headlight's jes fo dekorashun... you could conceivably paint the juncture edges...but I doubt that would be worth much.
