Problem with my inner door handle.

I have a question regarding my inner door handle:

I pulled on it the other day and noticed that the plastic-like cover is loose, or not mounted securely like my driver's side:

Can someone tell me how this cover is mounted to the door? Maybe someone has a diagram or something? I am guessing I need to disassemble my door to fix it? Also, do I need to take additional precautions because I have side airbags?

there should be a screw holding it from the other side(if I recall correctly), which means you will have to take the door panel off, and since you have side air bags, disconnect the battery first. but if the screw is holding it from the inner side, then just find a screw that will fit the hole and it should be good.

Thanks nenad. I was surfing around here and found a HOW-TO for the panel removal:Panel HOW-TO (http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2381)
In this HOW-TO it says to work the handle loose. The problem with mine is it's already loose. I need to know how to securely mount it. The HOW-TO implies that it is not held by a screw (unless I cannot read), so I am at a loss as how to fix it.

Anyone got any info?

i guess it clips in then. check with the dealer if you can get just the handle.

sorry to be so late in replying..
but the handle does actually "clip" in..
a lot of those break when removing them.. and I guess its just so old that it fell apart on you.
fix if you like.. but a new one is available form MB parts.. I dont think its super expensive either.. maybe $20-30..
dont know part number off hand.

Thanks again. I managed to work it loose and see where the problem lies. Looks like two of the three clips are broken. Time to order a new part.
