hi everybody... well i was thinking the other day about the packages mosselman offers and other turbo kit provides do... they raise the torque 2x and around 35% hp increase so on a c230 that means hp is gonna be around 220hp... well they don't offer any transsmission upgrade... so i assume that the tranny could hold that amount of power then if i slapped on an m104 e320 engine with the original ecu which is 220 hp stock is quite the same thing right??? but the c280 and c230 have different trannies 722.6XX and so does the 320 engine??? is there any way to beef up a stock tranny??? what do u actually change to beef it up??

if you could swap all the internals with the ones from, lets say, 1992-1995 E500 or SL 500, then you would not have to worry about breaking the tranny, you would be good for up to 400hp. but I have never done this before, so I cant guaranty it would be succesful. but you say your car is a c230. if its post 1996, than this upgrade would not be possible with the trannies from these 500 models, you would have to use a tranny from a C280, post 1996 that is.

thanks nenad, well i have a stock 1997 230 with 5sp auto if i used the c280 97+ internals i should be on the safe side?? well could u breif me out about ur install cause telling u the truth ur signiture gave me the idea of the 320 swap... posting pics will be great... well i am thinking of upgrading to the 320 engine so far i have the following stuff to be changed... i could get the whole engine with all accesories on it excluding the ac compressor, the radiator must be changed and ecu + wiring harness.... my mechanic says its possible but he insists on chaning the tranny, differntial and transmission line....

i dont think that the differential needs to be changed, unless you want a different ratio. as for the driveshaft, I'm not sure if it needs to be changed or not.
here are some pics of my car:

the engine looks the same as my old 280.

but I think the cheaper upgrade for you would be a custom setup supercharger. here is a link to my explanation on it, its for the C280, but it can be installed on a C230 as well(just scroll down for my post):
