Ok, I know its a W202 site, but I figured someone will know, since there are more technical people here.

I am looking for brake options (being budget mindful) for my SLK. As mine is a 320, not 230 (which has different brakes set up) My rotors are already a pretty good size, so I am looking for options. Please help:

1. Retain my stock calipers and change rotors to x-drilled and paint the caliper for better looks through the open spoke wheels

2. Get a bigger brake upgrade (MovIT, AP Racing or Brembo)

3. Swap another fitting brake set up from C32 (if it fits)

Please voice your opinions on these options and let me know what you think is best.

What are your prioritized goals for the system? Performance? cost? looks?

I guess priorities are
1. Cost and Looks (They are the same priority for me)

2. Functionanlity (I don't want it towork worse than stock)

Thank AJ

In that case I would compare the costs between 1 and 3. (slk 32 brakes?).

Also, if you're thinking about an aftermarket big brake package, you might want to consider speedybenz's vendor. Sounds like it might have a significant value prop.

Going to an aftermarket "big brake" kit from the manufacturers you mentioned would be spending too much money on performance you don't need. But of course, that's my very humble opinion.

Speedybenz vendor? link up please. I can get a good deal from AP Racing (from stillen) something like 1800-2000 for a big 6 piston upgrade kit for the front....like Luwins.

Jeff specifically mentioned these guys

The Brakeman, Mailing / Shipping Address:
838 Calle Plano . Camarillo . California . 93012

Call:
805-987-STOP (7867)

but he's also mentioned Coleman and Stoptech as possible places to look.

However, that AP setup sounds mighty attractive...is it a 14" rotor?
