I just got a Euro-Spec licence plate frame for the front from Steve....the Euro Pimp...

I found out from the 'search' that some use 3M all weather tape to attach them on the bumper or drill hole....

For those of you who have done this mod...

What are your suggestions????

Is drilling a hole on the front bumper the only way to firmely attach it???

Help me!!!

I did the exactly same thing. Bought it from Steve a couple of years ago. He even helped in getting it painted to match my car! After a couple of days of drying, Steve carefully wrapped it and shipped it to me. It is still in great condition today! :)

I removed the USA-size license plate holder. The Euro-plate holder had two tabs on the bottom and fit right into the holes in the stock bumper.

Yes, I did drill into the bumper to keep the holder and license plate firmly in place. (only because my front bumper already had two holes, thanks to the dealer who originally installed the USA-size plate holder)

Unless you live in(or plan to move to) a state that does not require front license plates, I think drilling a couple of holes are okay. Just make sure you do it carefully.

wow... you just made me to smack my own forehead and
say "oh sh*t..."

I had completely forgotten about the airbag sensor...

Is it really behind the front license plate holder area? I used
short screws, but had NOT considered the sensor at all...

I'll take the holder off tomorrow and see if I had done any
damage to the sensor. (but it has been almost two years
since I installed the holder and nothing has happened...
keeping my fingers crossed)

Thanks for brining that to my attention! :bunny: :bunny: :bunny:

There is no wiring or anything to connect any sensor in the front bumper to the car though, except for temperature. I though the sensors were in the front-end metalwork somewhere!

I called up the service advisor at the dealer and he said the
front airbag impact sensor should be somewhere near the
A/C drier, on the frame.

In any case, I'm going to have to take my front bumper off
tomorrow anyway. I'll check to make sure I didni't drill into
anything important. (replacing my stock horns with some
Hella horns)
