What year is your car? I can check for the replacement lense part number. About those window chip places.. Typically, you can still see the chip when they fill it. It just prevents it from spreading. I'd recommend that after you got new lenses, you can have them covered with 3m Stoneguard and it will protect them from rock chips.

i have 96 c220
my headlight is 2 piece, the lens comes off but it's attached to a piece of plastic. not just the glass lens. i'll post some pics later on.

where can i get the stoneguard stuff? im in vancouver.

edit:
left light assembly part number is 202 820 0761 (on the plastic part of the assembly)
left light lens part number is 1 305 621 572 (on the front of the lens)

www.bekkers.com and also eBay have replacement lenses for about $100 a pop. I'm not even sure if the holder style lens like ours is available at the dealerships anymore... The StonGard is available at http://www.stongard.com . If you want to check locally, check local bodyshops.

EDIT: I just looked at the price.. it's $37.95 USD for the kit. I'm sure you'd be able to install it yourself since it's just the headlights. Normally the stongard is used to protect the whole front end of a car and I'm sure that would be tricky to install.

Good luck

Martin

Make sure you get the right ones. The lens from my 2000 doesn't look like that.

OEM was pretty reasonable. I can't remember if it was $40 or $70 from the dealer.

His car is a 1996 though, so those are the correct lenses.

You should e-mail them or call them to make sure they have the correct ones because they don't have a picture of them on the website.

OEM from the dealership?

i called today and parts guy said they didnt have lens listed for pre 97. only the post 97 c-classes had lens replacement. and the whole assembly is $600 cad EACH.......

i went to every single glass repair shop here and no one said they can fix it because the headlights are a different type of glass where as the windows are laminated?
im goin to attempt to fix it myself with a kit... but i have no clue how that's goin to work out

i found this (http://www.glassmechanix.com/head-tail-light-repair.htm) anyone knw if it works? so far non of the windshield repair kits will work on headlights and no glass shop will attempt to do it because they said it's not possible.
but this company claims it'll work

ok i got a windshield repair kit and fixed the damned chip. in your face to all those glass ppl that told me it couldnt be done! biznitches! muahaha.

hopefully it'll hold.... but one this is that the window epoxy is cured by sunlight and uv light. we havent got any of that for over a month now. been raining every single day. so i did it in my garage then used hair dryer and then a lamp to bake it for 1 hour. would that work? does a lamp have UV rays?

Call an integrated dismantler like Aadco Automotive and they should be able to find you a used one (QA, with a one-year warranty). Usually their prices are 1/2 OEM.

They're in Toronto, but I'm sure they'll ship, or they can tell you who has one on the West coast.

I have had to replace my lenses three times this year, I have found a few places you can get just the lens. EBAY is one just search for w202, and you will find it.
