Hey guys. I've just visited the Wald homepage www.wald-japan.co.jp and I saw that the complete Bodykit for the W202 is sold for 84000 JPY. Converted to my currency (Euro €) is that only 620 Euros. That means 794 $! Why does everybody say that Wald is very expensive? That's cheap as hell!
Even if you add shipping, it would be very cheap!

Alex.

From my experience Japanese shops dont like dealing with ppl calling up not knowing how to speak japanese and want to ship 1 thing out.

I even went as far as getting a friend of mines who speaks japanese call up for me to try to order some car parts. That didnt work as well.

Best thing to do is do go there and buy the part then ship it out. Or if you have a friend there to help you out.

Things may have changed and maybe now they are more helpful but i doubt it.

But you never know till you call up and ask.

Very true. Otherwise most of the pricing I get is around 1400-1500 for the kit, 320.00 for the fogs, 1100 or so for the exhuast, and then another 8-1000 for paint and install. Maybe someone who can speak Japanese or is planning a trip there can find out some more information, or better yet, pricing.

I am currently deciding whether to go with full Rieger or full Wald kit. I can get good prices on both, is anyone else interested? Maybe we can do a GB?

According to boesewicht, the kit would cost 794$ american dollars in germany. If you could meet or beat that, that would be great. And with group buy (if there is enough intrest) maybe even cheaper. Let us know when you find out.

Is the Wald kit full bumper re-placement, or a lip kit? And what year of the w202's does it fit?

Ive been looking for kits for a long time now. My buddy Kswiss and I are going to purchase kits relatively soon. We wanted the Brabus GB to go on, but not enough people to commit. I was thinking of going full Rieger, but just the other day, the Wald kit was brought to my attention. I was told the kit is a full bumper replacement, F and R and sides etc. I think he said it is made of fiberglass and is not ploy urethane or ABS, that is why he told me the Wald kits arent that expensive, because they are made of fiberglass. I could be wrong, but im pretty sure thats what he was saying. Ill find everything out on monday forsure.

If it is fiber glass, it should be a lot cheaper, those things crack so easy (had one on my last car). Ive seen the AMG fiberglass kits on ebay for $550... but im wondering if its worth it to put a fiber glass kit on the benz, just cuz i know how easy they are damaged, and over time the paint can peel.

If you have fiberglass it is a lot easier to work with and repair. Also, it can be fitted a lot better. But it does crack easily depending on quality. I have had one on my Accord for almost 3 yrs and only repainted it once a few months ago cuz I scraped it very bad.

If you go with urethane wont crack as easy but it is a pain in the @$$ to work with especially if fitment isn't perfect.

Either one is fine with me if I can get the WALD (authentic) for under $1k

Is anyone interested in a Wald kit? I can get them for $1400 shipped to LA. If we get at least 5 buyers, he said the price can go down to around $1100-1200, he has to check with Wald. Anyone interested?
