Any know how much power is running into the rear deck midbass and the rest of the speakers on a 99 c43 bose system?

I am trying to do a little-space taking bass addition to my audio system a.k.a. more bass on the deck set up.

I tried a pair of jl's 6w0 on the rear deck running on jl's 250/1... LOUD but not as smooth as the bose bass. It could've been the amp though...

Anybody did this or something like this before?

I tried to change my speakers in my 95 C280 about a year ago. I had 4ohm speakers that I wanted to put in and they told me that the current speakers are 1ohm. Therefore, if I would have put in the 4ohm speakers that my power would be cut by 75%.

Im not sure if this will help very much given the fact that I don't have the same car as you, but maybe it can help.

a little to much power for those subs, plus the bose midbass are a free air design, the jl audio's aren't meant for that. try the 6 1/2 mid bass drivers, those should help;)

I am crazy enough to try 4 6 1/2 free air midbass/subs.... Does anybody know any company that makes them?

I also want to try having 4 bose midbass on the rear deck but I am thinking of changing the amp.. Any clue what is the impendance and the power ratings on those midbass?

bose speakers are 2 ohm. mb quart , jl audio, and good mid bass will do the job.

How are diamond audio?
I am getting a diamond audio s600s for my component....
Would additional diamond's midbass do the job if I set those additional ones to 2 ohms to draw out more bass?

Audiophile... you into home audio?

focal k2p.. thats a good set.. you should talk to psnji about DLS.. i've never heard of a set.. but they get great reviews.. just throwing things out there so you'll be more confusing on deciding.. ahahhaha... :D

That must 've been the set up, cause I heard them often in my local dealer.

No focal! they are just too good for my ears and bad for my wallet!
I heard a total DLS system on my friend's golf. UR6S, UR10, A3, A5. Round of applause to an all rounded system! But they are just so hard to get... Lucky for my friend that he has a brother in Uk to get all the stuff.

How I wish someone made an SACD player for car HU.
What have you got there audioophile?

Wait - are you saying that you can replace the OEM bose speakers with those from the manufacturers you list above?

Any impact on audio quality? Drop in volume, etc?

I can get DLS for you at a good price if you know what you're looking for. I had the UR36S (3-way version of your friend's Golf components) in my Supra, they were awesome. I've tried pretty much every component in the sub-$2000 category, and they're definitely a heavy contender regardless of price.

As for SACD, Sony said they have no plans of moving into the mobile domain. There are a small handful of head units that will do DVD-A however.

I have DLS UR6.5" component for sale. Also Eclipse HU with 24 bit DAC and the changer.

In general, if you put after market components, the HU is not strong enough to power them.
