You know the metal trim that goes around the windows and even on the roof of the car, well mine has turned this weird bronze color. I will try to take a pic so it is more clear, but i hope you know what part im talking about. Wondering if there is anything i can do about it. My car is 040 black and those stupid bronzish trims are ruining the look.

**oh yeah and the part even turned bronze beneath the side windows.. and the roof.....and the front...and the back window

If you really want to change them I suggest get the sport ones as they are rubber and dont turn that gold/bronze colour.

Yes I have noticed that as well on my car. It's not too noticable YET and so I will wait to deal with them. Let me know what you end up doing.

I have the same problem you have, but mine has turned a purplish color. Very noticible =(. I was thinking of either going to the the junkyard or taking them off myself and powdercoating them. But i do not know how to take them off. I think 714guy has done this to his ride also, and looks really clean. I haven't had a response from him on how to diy.
If you find out the prices for the oem sport trims, please let me know. THanks

I always thought the chrome was supposed to be darkened like that.

Yeah but it is bronze looking, and doesn't match anything with the car. If it was chrome it would at least match the chrome trim around the car....

I can't stand the trims either man.....i wish SOMEONE on this forum would help us with taking them off.
THat picture doesn't do it's justice. I'm sure it looks way worse than that in person , if it's like mine.

Just powder coat it, i did and it only cost 150 to do everything all the chrome and bronze stuff on my car. I think it was aobut 50 - 60 pieces.

Of course the hard part is taking it off and removeing all the rubber seals. but after that its a matter of a few days and you get it back and install it in no time.

Numbered pictures for Powder coater so they wont lose any

This his all the Gunmetal pieces that go around the windows and that F-ing piece in the rear window that divides the the fixed window. For that piece i had to remove the door panel, slide the glass off the track. But way worth it.

Yeah i've been thinking of powdercoating the trims for a long time, but don't know how to take them off. Too paranoid.

Have anyone of you tried getting a Haynes Manual? I would think you could get the information there.
