I tried the following sequence to resetting my service light but it's not working for me.

If you're talking about the Service Reminder Light, I'll try.
1. Turn the key to No. 2 position
2. Hit the lowest button, underneath the dimmer lights, twice really fast.
This will show you either a mileage or days.
It's the same display as you odometer.
3. Turn the key off.
4. Hold the same button & turn the key back on. Hold the button for 10 seconds, until you hear a beep.
5. You should now see a new mileage ( 10 k miles ).
6. Have a beer.

What am I doing wrong and does anyone else have any idea what I should do other than take it to the Stealership? I have a 2000 C230K.

Thanks,

Mike

try it again.. it works..

1. Turn the key to No. 2 position
2. Hit the 0, twice really fast.

When I turn the key back on with the "0" button held for 10 sec. I don't ever hear a beep. I have done it 5-6 times. I will try it later with the door open. That' s the only thing I have not tried.

When you first turn the key to position 2 do you wait till the wrenches disappear before hitting the "0" really fast.

When you hit "0" really fast does the mileage or days stay on on the odomater?

When I do it the mileage comes on but as soon as I let go it goes off.

This can't be that hard ! Can it??

i can't remember if i heard a beep or not.. but it works..

not sure about the door cause i had mines closed????

yes.. i waited till the wrench was gone..

not sure what you're asking.. but when you hit it twice it should come the the wrench i think...

hold it on for longer i guess.. say about 15 or so seconds.. it wouldn't hurt

no its not hard...

:D

I miust be stupid or something but it's not working for me. As I turn the key to position 2 when I wait till the wrenches are gone as soon as I press "0" once the wrenches come back on. If I don't wait till the wrenches are gone as I press "0" once the regular milage comes on but if I hit it the second time the wrenches come back on. Anyone else have this problem?
