225 45 ZR 17 with an ET of 42
i had 205 15 on with an ET of 37
could some one explain the Et offset

I'll give you the simple version.
E.T is how far the wheel goes into the hub ( past the centre of the wheel ).
The correct E.T for your car is 35, meaning the wheel will go 35 mm past the middle, before it seats on the hub.
An E.T of 42 means the wheel will sit further toward the centre of the car by 7 mm ( about 1/4 " ).
Just remember, higher number means the wheel goes IN more, lower number means the wheel will sit OUT more. ;)

thanks my car has Et 37 stock where did you get the Et35
Will i have probelms running staggard
what are the Et on them

YOUR ET CAN VERY SLIGHTLY DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF THE WHEELS, SIZE OF TIRES, AND ALSO THE LOOK YOU WANT TO GO FOR.
GENERAL RULE OF THUMB FOR THE W202 IS A ET OF 35MM
DO A SEARCH AND YE SHALL FIND!
