(check out the other 2 models he sold)

I like the LED and I like the tint.....
Remembered somebody saying something about spray tinting
Anybody know what brand of tint would give a dark tint like the one in the 2nd link or close?

VHT nightshades would do the job, just spray until you like the shade of tint.

Quick question, when you did the VHT nightshades did it come out dull or glossy? I really want to find a way to do it so the tint on the tailights is glossy like the tailight is originally.

those led tail lights look cheezy, i saw them the otherday... they look like the altezza lights you would see on a civic... the whole reason i bought a benz is to stay away from lookin like every other car on the street... jus my opinion tho

oh there is also a cleared version on ebay too fyi

freestyler: it was decent it has a shine to it, not good like oem but it doesn't look dull. I think the trick is after you tint it, sand it a little bit and add lots of clear coat.

Well that's why I am asking about tinting them... I only want the LED system not the clear altezza style.

So what do you guys think of this...

If you are serious about these tails I think you should try to have the chrome inside done up with carbon fiber and buy the smoked ones. Send it to the plase that did tinter's dash. That may look cool.

here's what they look like at night (found a pic online).

I just sent my headlight housings (for my Accord) to get them in Carbon Fiber for a retro fit I'm doing I should have them back in about 10 days I will post pics.

As for getting taillights tinted with a high gloss like OEM I will post back cuz I need to find the thread from v6p.net where someone did there taillights in a gloss black and it looked very nice. I also can get your tailights retofitted with LEDs if you would like, price depends on exactly how you want it.

So now I have in my possession the LED taillights...

Question to people who ever did the tint...

I am just wondering do I need another layer of clear coat above the tint to make it glossy?
If do, what kind?

me and my friend did his black M3's tails over spring break, and we tinted it w/a couple coats of the tamiya paint then we steel wooled it w/ the finest stuff we could find (0000 i think..) and we clear coated it w/some stuff that we bought at pep boys, duplicolor i think, it came out really nice

I want my taillights tint to be perfect.
I am running into trouble when doing this on a test arcylic sheet. (lucky me)

I wet sanded the arcylic with a 2000 grit sandpaper and spray a coat of VHT nightshade. Apparently the coat is too thick and the paint flows down.
The second time I tried with less coat.... but now it becomes patches! realizing this I sprayed a little more coat and the damn same thing happen immediately like the first time.

I had spray painted my audio rack before and it turns good.

Is it VHT or me?! Any input from VHT users? or any advice on this thing?
