I've made up my mind that I want Sirius SR in my car. Sirius has finally come out with a unit that's small enough for my tastes. I did a search for XM, Sirius, and Satellite Radio, and came up with very little information about getting these installed in a 202. I'm ok with the FM modulated route. My dad has XM FM modulated in his Denal XL and I honestly can't really tell a difference in sound quality between his and my friend's 05 Accord that came from the factory with XM. I wouldn't imagine Sirius being much different. Does anyone have any suggestions about where the antenna, display, wiring, etc. should be installed? Thanks in advance.

You should just go to a car audio place and they will most likely be able to install it for you. I would suggest mounting it on your dash some where... where ever you feel most comfortable with it. As for the antenna just but it on the rear of your roof. My brother and dad both have Sirius and it is awsome so don't think that Sirius is any better or worse than XM. Good luck!

I went over and talked to a guy at Circuit City (where I usually go to get stuff like this done to my car) and he was kind of a jerk and didn't sound to enthusiastic about doing my car and admitted he had never done a Mercedes before. So I took it over to Best Buy (I never have faith in them but thought I'd check anyway) and talked to the installer over there. He has done a lot of high end cars before, including Mercedes, so I'm gonna actually take it there, I think. The difference in installtion cost is $55 over a Circuit City and $81 over at Bestbuy. I'm gonna have him mount the antenna on the corner of the trunk lid, cause I don't want it in the spot on the roof they usually put it on SUV's. The unit is gonna be hard wired and placed in the coin tray area. I'd reather do all this my self, but I don't wanna screw with trying to run the antenna to the trink lid. If anyone else has any suggestions, I definitely want to hear them.

I think you made the right decision going to the guy at Best Buy. I have been told that mercedes are very hard to deal with when it comes to taking apart the dash, running wires, pretty much trying to fix everything ha. I have a friend who got Sirius in his Escape and he has it mounted in his coin tray and it works and looks really nice. Good Luck!

Yeah, you should have seen the guy at Circuit City doing my alarm! He had that car all tore up! But in the end he did a really good job and it helped that I knew him personally and how long he'd been doing car audio and security installs. But that was in my old home town of Midland. San Antonio's different and I haven't had any experience with the installers here so...who knows?
