Hey,

I guess this is the place to post this------
98 c280 I'm getting 24.5 mpg, thats up from 19 mpg after a new maf. I was wondering what kind of mpg everyone else gets from an m112. And other engines also.

I'm consistently tracking 19mpg mixed city/hwy with the m104. If i really baby the throttle, I can get about 22mpg. But not having fun isn't worth 3mpg extra :p

That's pretty good for that engine.

My 1994 C280 gets around 20 with mostly city driving. 23 on highway driving. When driving home from college ( mostly 70mph highways), I get do about 375 miles on one tank (with a little bit left of course)

M111 should be in the high 20s. I got 30mpg on long trip on my M111. But mine isn't stock either.

my 95 C280 used to get 400 miles per tan( about 25mpg), and with the 3.2L in it, I used to get 380 miles per tank(about 23mpg). so as you guys can see, those fuel magnets I had really worked.

So how did you get that increase in mpg on your 95 C280?
Did you get a chip?

Are the magnet - three bars bolted together to form triangle around the fuel line?

Do the magnet kits include high performance muffler bearings?

I'm now consistently getting 19 to 20 mpg on my M113 C43 backroad/city/highway combination.

The best thing I did for mpg was change my fuel filter. MB says to change it every 60K miles or so. Because of the bad gas in this country (it's not so clean) my mechanic and I found that changing the filter once a year, or every 20K miles is better.

The filters go for a about $35 on the internet and you can change them yourself. After the change I got 40 to 50 miles more per tank of gas. A change from 16-17 mpg to 19-20 mpg. At $30 dollars or so for a tank of gas, the filter pays for itself in one week.

I'll try adding the superfuelmax magnets when they are offered for sale again. Jnenad16 do you have your old magnets for sale? or know where else to get them?

Thanks,

I got almost 30 mpg highway miles once (with ac on !). Usually average 22 miles per gallon around town..Not bad for an 11 yr old car!!!

I was being snide. The whole magnet on the fuel line thing is absolutely silly. If it actually worked, don't you think that every car in production would have them by now? At least professional racers? Nope, not a single one. At least they are harmless, which is better than some other forms of snake oil that are foisted on the automotive consumer. I am sorry, if I am being insulting, but there is not one shread of real science to back up the claims made for those magnets.

Thanks for the news. Given the price of gas, another bit of wishful thinking dashed by reality! Good info does save money in the end.
