19" monoblocks

I'm thinking of putting 19" monoblocks on my 36. I have h&r suspension. Planned on using #1 pads all around? Does any one have this setup or have any advice about what pad #s I should use?

19" with pad #1 all around (I assume you're lowering the car with Eibach or H&R) will rub for sure.

On another note for genuine 19" monoblok you will need to run 10mm on all corner..since the 19" has W140 offset (ET44 and ET46 if I am not mistaken)

where do you get 19 inch tirerack only has them up to 18

Since we're talking about lowering, is a pad automatically needed when lowering? Where can I find this pad? Is this like a shim?

spring pad is like a shim (so you're right on that one).


It is necessary by design (otherwise the metal spring will be in contact with the metal spring perch (definitely not good and you don't want that at all).

Depending on what year there are 2 different spring pad construction.

There are the set which has 210 part number (mid 96-99)
and the other earlier set which as 201 part number (94-mid 96).

Each of these set has different thickness for front and rear

I don't remember all the part number, so please do a search on that (since I posted the information many times before).


You can get this from the dealership obviously.

So, could use different pads #3s or #4s or am I just shit out of luck? I don't really want to have to modify the fenders, but it looks like I'll have to if I want it to look right.

Thanks for the tip about the offsets...hadn't even thought that far yet. :rolleyes:

You will definitely have to roll fully if you haven't already and probably up the spring pad setup to #3's and 4's at least.

Also, I would NOT go more than 235/35/19 on tyres...

Thanks for the tips everyone. I appreciatte it. Think I'm going to stick to 18"s for now. I'll post some pics soon of my virgin 36 before I pop her cherry. :shock:
