Hello, today I put my trunk back together and put the vacume pump back in place. I started the car and heard a loud noise for a few seconds. I turned it off and restarted it. I drove to the gas station and when I got out to pump the gas, the gas cap/cover wouldent open. I thought my car was locked so I unlocked it with my alarm, and none of the door lock pins moved. I drove home and got out the car to open the trunk, which would only open with the key. I opened it and played with the locking and unlocking of the car, while putting my ear to the pump. I did not feel it moving or making noise, which is not normal. Did I burn the pump out? Whats the deal? I need to know fast becasue I have really really low gas and need to add fuel. Thanks:)

Well, I need to go on a trip tomarrow, and have no way of getting the gas cap open? Can anyone help me??:(
EDIT: I remember how to open the gas cap. I push the red tab on the passenger side of the trunk to pop it open, but that dosent solve the problem. Any ideas. Thanks

remove the right trunk panel to access the pump and the vacuum solenoid that locks the gas lid. manually pull back the rod that goes from the vacuum solenoid to the gas lid, and at the same time have someone try to open the lid from the outside of the car.

check connections.. mke sure you plugged the pump back in properly.. check fuse too.. may have blown it for some reason.
check for power and ground at pump.
so why did you have your pump out in the first place?.. and when you said you heard a noise when you started your car up after putting everything back into place.. what did it sound like?.. the vacuum pump?
do those wires for the pump run along the trunk hinge??.. could have broken wire in trunk hinge area?

Are you supposed to take out that pump to put in custom system? Or will the system be ok with the vacuum in it?

I was putting my trunk back to its stock form. Well, I took the pump and sort of pushed it into the corner to put the cover back on. I know I dident hurt the pump because its padded. I know I dident bust a line, cause when I listen to the pump, I dont hear it working or trying to move air. I think its something electrical. I checked the fuses but will look agian, its 1am now. My email is neema1252@yahoo.com Thanks alot, Ill keep everyone updated.

Any ideas. I checked the fuses, all good. Here is the deal. Every time I go to open the door, I hear the pump push a bit of air, but not pumping or making effort. Whats the problem??
